Description

The Master Grade 1/100 Gundam Barbatos arrives in its Recirculation Neon Blue colors to commemorate the Bandai Spirits and GunPla Recycling Project collaboration, also to celebrate the Gundam Next Future project!

This kit was only available exclusively and for limited time at the Gundam Base Tokyo, Gundam Base Fukuoka, and Gundam Side-F. Premium Bandai USA put the item to their pre-order list on November 16th, 2023, to commemorate the opening of the Gundam Base Pop Up store in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Gundam & Scuderia Alphatauri collaboration.

The kit shares the same molds with the MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos but is molded in recycled eco-friendly materials and processed with reduced CO2 emission. Just like the other kits in the "Recirculation" lineup, this kit is molded in black provided with color accents to highlight its features. The kit is also completed with the "Recirculation" themed decal for detailing.

The ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos is one of 72 "Gundam" frames developed and utilized in the Calamity War, which occurred around 300 years ago. Chryse Guard Security utilized it as a power reactor after it was retrieved. Aside from the fact that its Ahab Reactors were still operational, this was done primarily because to the fact that Barbatos' cockpit was missing when it was discovered. Prior to the 3rd Group's redeployment, a new cockpit similar to that used by CGS mobile personnel was fitted. Poor upkeep has deteriorated the Barbatos' armor and combat potential over the decades since the Calamity War. This is eventually corrected by Teiwaz technicians, who not only restore the Barbatos to its previous appearance but also return it to its original performance.

Because they have two Ahab Reactors, Gundam units like the Barbatos can produce a lot of energy. However, due to the difficulty of running them in parallel operation, only 72 Gundam frames were ever generated. The pilot has a heavy load as a result of the high output and mobility; however, this weight is alleviated by the use of inertial control due to the usage of Ahab Particles generated by the reactor when a phase transition occurs inside its vacuum device. To take advantage of this, the cockpit structure is placed in front of the reactor.

Among the same frame machines, the Gundam Barbatos has been modified to emphasize versatility; it has the ability to adapt to any situation by replacing its equipment. It can also use vanquished enemies' weapons and armor to boost its fighting limits.
